British Values - Staff training days

January 13, 2016

On Monday 4th January 2016 staff from the Nursery School, Little Builders and Children's Centre came together to explore what British Values mean for our organisation. We explored what the five identified values are and how we see them in our everyday practice. We also looked at how they relate to the 45 UNICEF Rights of the Child statements to support us in becoming a Right's Respecting School.

During the afternoon, staff worked in teams to plan how make a visual representation of the five values Mutal Respect, Tolerance, Individual Liberty, Rule of Law and Democracy that we could share with parents, children and visitors to our settings.

This could take the form of anything they wished as long as it could be displayed.

On Friday 8th January 2016, the creative process began! The whole place was a hive of activity.

The whole day was spent printing, painting, sticking, cutting out, drawing, attaching etc. Teams worked together to demonstrate their own groups British Value.

At the end of the day each team presented their creation to the rest of the staff team.
